9 Month Photo Shoot

We had a little 9-month photo shoot with Mr. Sea Turtle ...

Since she is on the move, the photo shoots are not as easy as they used to be. We've learned to crawl, explore things around, and pull up. She's getting a lot better at feeding herself, which I am finding tons of fun. She's great at trying new things!

*The first four photos are a sequence ... 1. Hey, Look at that. 2. No, I'll climb on Mr. Sea Turtle. 3. Well, actually I'll crawl away. 4. Okay Mom, I'll come get you instead.

Just looking cute!

1. I'm reading. 2. This is so exciting! 3. Looking intently at the book. If you look closely, her little tongue is sticking out. This is her latest mimic; if you stick your tongue out at move it from side to side, she'll do the same.

Happy 9 Months, my sweet girl.

Love to all,

Standing Up in Her Crib

So, about a week ago, I found Mariel standing up in her crib after nap time. Now, it's very common to find her thinking, "I want out ... Mommy, pick me up ..."

Here's the evidence that she's growing up:

Have a very blessed day.

July 4th Recap

For the July 4th, we went bowling!! In the late afternoon, we were planning to go to a concert in Downtown Durham; however, at 4pm huge thunder and lightening storms came through. All the firework shows in the area were cancelled and rescheduled. Needless to say, our 4th of July was bowling and hanging out at home.

A few pictures:

Mariel and her bowling ball. We were a great team! I held her, so we could bowl together.

Don't look too closely at the score, but at the end I got a Turkey!!!

Hugging her bowling ball!

Love to all,

A Very Special Visitor

My Great Aunt came to visit us!! Aunt Dean is my Dad's Aunt; she is so special to us!!
She came to Chapel Hill, NC for a conference with her friend, so she could come and visit us!

This was Matthew and Mariel's first time to meet her, and it was just wonderful.

We visited the Duke Chapel ...

as well as Duke Gardens!

It was such a lovely day.
We were so blessed by her visit!!

Blessings to all,
