A Recap of Our Weekend

Happy Monday morning!!

We had a fun-filled, wonderful weekend!! On Friday, Matthew and I (and of course, Mariel) kept our upstairs neighbor's child (Sofi). She slept the entire time, so it was movie time for us.
And then on Saturday, Matthew took Mariel out-and-about in the morning while I stayed at home to prepare for a devotional and children's sermon to be given on Sunday morning. We lollygagged around the house and then went to an early dinner for a family evening. Then, on Sunday after church, Mariel and I went to a baby shower for a dear friend before heading to the park to embrace the beautiful 77 degree weather. We ended up meeting our friends from upstairs at Duke Gardens ... Lena and Sofi!!

Rolling Over - Finally Captured

So, after 2+ weeks knowing that Mariel rolled over and not witnessing myself, she finally rolled over and kept rolling over for Matthew and I ... We were so excited, and Matthew captured it for you to witness as well!

We were getting ready for a baby shower

... and decided to attempt Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Bread ...

I loved watching the chocolate chip go around and around.

But in the end, this was a failed attempt. :(

I started fussing and mommy left out over half of the flour.
We'll try again another day, but needless to say, I learned a lot.

Painting with my feet ...

Tonight, Mariel and I made cards for grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Mariel wanted to paint, so I let her paint with the cards with her feet. I hope they dry tonight, so we can get them in the mail this weekend!! Both of us thought it was bunches of fun!!

Mariel is in her 4th month of life ... making her exactly ____ days old!!

I've decided to at least attempt a weekly blog; we'll see how it goes. I've started Picasso albums, so it might not be too difficult to get pictures on this blog.

News about Mariel:

Mariel rolled over today on her own!! Unfortunately, I didn't even see it, and I was even in the room. Hopefully, she'll do it again and I'll get to video it.
